Using the spinner
A spinner measures rotation without a fixed end point. It suits paddle, dial, steering, and rotational aiming games. The selected title must support and map the spinner.
Recommended games
- Tempest
- Arkanoid
- Tron
- Discs of Tron
- Major Havoc
- Tac/Scan
- Cameltry
- Puzz Loop
- Compatible paddle and driving titles
Sensitivity and calibration
Begin with the approved profile. Test one slow turn and one fast spin, then make a small sensitivity change if required. Some games interpret one revolution differently, so there is no universal setting.
Cleaning
- 1Shut down and unplug.
- 2Hold the knob steady without pulling.
- 3Wipe the knob and panel with a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth.
- 4Remove debris around the shaft with a soft brush.
- 5Allow the area to dry before use.
Maintenance and replacement
Do not force the spinner against resistance or apply spray cleaners. Wobble, grinding, or intermittent input should be assessed by Mectura. Replacement requires compatible pulse resolution and wiring.
Troubleshooting
Before troubleshooting a controller, light gun, trackball, or spinner, ask whether any USB cable, adapter, hub, port, or internal connection was moved. A customer may restore only a documented external USB connection after shutdown. Internal pins and wiring require a technician and the original Mectura reference.
- Confirm the title supports spinner input.
- Test another known-compatible game.
- Ask whether the spinner-to-USB adapter, USB lead, or any connector was moved.
- Customers may restore only a documented external USB connection after shutdown.
- Internal harness pins and adapter wiring require a technician using the original Mectura wiring reference.
- Restore approved sensitivity without remapping controls.
