Recommended care schedule

• Weekly or as needed: dust exterior, display, and control surfaces.
• Monthly: inspect vents, cables, controls, and surge protection.
• Every three to six months: inspect ventilation openings and accessible dust accumulation.
• Before moving or storage: complete the transport checklist.

Cabinet surfaces

Shut down and unplug. Use a soft microfibre cloth. Apply a small amount of material-compatible cleaner to the cloth, never directly to the cabinet. Dry promptly and avoid seams, edges, artwork, and electrical openings.

Display and acrylic

Use separate clean cloths for the display and acrylic. Choose display-safe and acrylic-safe products respectively. Avoid ammonia, alcohol unless specifically approved for the surface, paper towels, abrasives, and pressure on the panel.

Buttons, joystick, trackball, and spinner

Wipe control tops with a barely damp cloth while powered off. Prevent liquid from entering gaps. Do not add lubricant. Use the hardware-specific guides for trackball and spinner cleaning.

Ventilation and dust

Keep intake and exhaust openings clear. Do not push the cabinet against curtains or enclose it without airflow. External dust can be removed with a soft brush or low-suction vacuum while unplugged. Internal cleaning is service work unless Mectura authorizes it.

Power protection

Use a grounded outlet and certified surge protector rated for the cabinet. Surge protection degrades with events and time; follow the protector manufacturer's replacement guidance. Disconnect power during severe electrical storms when safe and practical.

Safe transportation

1. 1Shut down completely and unplug every cable.
2. 2Photograph cable routing and remove loose accessories.
3. 3Secure doors, controls, light guns, and removable parts.
4. 4Protect the display from pressure and impact.
5. 5Keep the cabinet upright.
6. 6Use enough trained people or professional movers.
7. 7Allow the cabinet to reach room temperature before powering on after cold transport.

Storage and humidity

Store indoors in a dry, temperature-stable environment. Avoid direct sun, flooding risk, condensation, pests, and high humidity. Cover loosely with breathable protection while maintaining airflow.
